Are you ready to Shift your PC to Online GDRIVE ?

From past more than two years we heard Google planning to luanch a service through which you can shift your personal computer in to GDrive (Google Drive). Which is now a next big thing in internet world. GDrive acts as a your pc where you can actually access your data just like your pc.
GDrive stores and processes the data in favor to "Cloud Computing", and all these things happening away from thousand miles in remote data centers.
Your every day action now in the future can be accessed through the internet.
The long-rumoured GDrive is expected to be launched this year, according to the technology news website TG Daily, which described it as "the most anticipated Google product so far".
Now most of the net users depending on the web based services and more on free services. Like email, digital photo storage mainly dependent websites like gmail, Flickr and Picasa etc,..Most of the documents in any format can read through online compatible applications.

Their is a fear of data loss from pc or laptop crashes and losing important data. But through this evolution that problem is expected very less.

All these online storing and processing is done regularly in "Cloud" and accesed through any where in the world.

But their is also be a fear giving all of our identity and information to outside world, which most of the people hate to do that.

I felt bad for giving my identity and control to unknown world. Where we introduced to every hour for thousands of unknow new virus threats. Now future of internet world looks wired.

Genetic Diseases may be cured By Scientists

A major break through for treatment of genetic diseases. For many years we all carrying the wrong genes to our new generation which is could not be possible to stop the spreading of the genital diseases. But the new study hopes potential curing for genetical disorder.

Scientists are edging closer to a potential cure for debilitating genetic diseases like Huntington's disease, Friedreich's ataxia and Fragile X syndrome, thanks to a recent breakthrough led by an Indian Australian.
The finding is the outcome of collaboration between a team led by Sureshkumar Balasubramanian of Queensland university School of Biological Sciences and Detlef Weigel at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in Germany.
Balasubramanian studies how different environmental conditions modulate developmental processes in plants. Specifically he aims to understand how plants respond to changes in temperature at a molecular mechanistic level.
The study identifies an expansion of a repeat pattern in the DNA of the plant Arabidopsis thaliana that has striking parallels to the DNA repeat patterns observed in humans suffering from neuronal disorders such as Huntington's disease and Fredereich's ataxia.
"It opens up a whole new array of possibilities for future research, some of which could have potential implications for humans," Balasubramanian said.
The types of diseases the research relates to, which are caused by "triplet repeat expansions" in DNA, become more severe through the generations but were difficult to study in humans due to the long timeframes involved, said a university release.
A plant model with a relatively short lifespan would allow scientists to study DNA mutations over several generations, Balasubramanian said.

Global Warming, bacteria threatens Coral health

There is real threat for coral health, mainly due to global warming and bacterial infection. Which is making life of coral worse.
Yellow band disease (YBD)-a bacterial infection that sickens coral colonies- is apparently getting worse with global warming sayresearchers, who have now identified the bacteria responsible for the disease. Researchers at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) have reported isolating the bacteria that cause YBD: a group of four new Vibrio species, which combine with existing Vibrio on the coral to attack the zooxanthellae, which are the photosynthetic symbionts of corals.

YBD is characterised by a swath of pale-yellow or white lesions along the surface of an infected coral colony.

The discoloured band is a mark of death, indicating where the bacterial infection has killed the zooxanthellae. The coral host suffers from cellular damage and starves without its major energy source, and usually does not recover.
The study further indicated that due to temperature rise in the coastal and sea level making the infected Coral more destructive to over come this. Due to global warming these precious ocean species already coming to an extinct. Their is clear indication that life of ocean living organisms in a dangerous level.

Child Monitoring Gadget "The “mother” of all gadgets!"

The child monitoring latest gadget the Num8 digital wristwatch which helps parents to keep watching of their children through satellite.
The state-of-the-art gadget has been designed by the British company Lok8u. For a mere £149 worried parents can keep an eye on their children’s whereabouts through a GPS chip hidden inside the watch, similar to the chip inside a satnav. The chip can transmit the location of the child and alert parents by text as accurately as the name of the road the child is sited.

Steve Salmon, Lok8u’s chief executive feels confident the watch will give children more freedom. He said,

“It is my profound hope that Num8 will help parents feel more comfortable about letting their children go out and play”.

Some other Child safety devices

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Based Devices like The BrickHouse Child Locator alert you to a wandering child and helps locate them with a hand held unit. This kind of system can find children quickly within a range of 300 to 600 Feet.

Simple Audio Alert Units like Mommy I'm Here feature a cute Teddy Bear Receiver your child wears, triggers a loud 56 DB intermittent chirp/beeping sound when the parent pushes a button on the hand held remote.

GPS Logging Devices such as the PocketTrack will tell you where your child has been after you download the data collected on the GPS Logger to your PC to view the maps and data.

GPS Real Time Tracking Systems like the TrimTracXS ideal for monitoring the whereabouts of teen drivers enables you to log on to the Internet and see where your child is at any moment. There have been attempts to develop a Real Time GPS Unit the size of a wristwatch for children, but so far battery life and other issues have made this system unreliable. We continue to work on finding a system to fit this need.

Save money and tree by reducing Computer power consumption

If you doesn't like to turn off your computer simply because you don't want to wait for the start up process. Then good option is to use the Power Options that a computer offers.

It is better to set up power options according to your needs and most recommanded set up is using the stand by or hibernate mode. If it is possible try to turnoff the monitor after every 15 or 30 minutes.

Stand By will use less power and when you are ready to continue working, it won't take long to startup again. This is recommended for your short breaks from work.

Both Stand By and Hibernate are good options to lower the power consumption of your computer. And avoid the using screen savers.

For laptop, turn off your wireless card if you are not using it, and reducing the brightness of your monitor. This can also help your battery last longer.

By reducing your computer's power consumption you will also reduce your energy bill and CO2 emissions. You will also be saving trees and helping the environment.

5 ways you can help to decrease power consumption on your computer

  1. Blackle was created to provide a front end to Google, but with a black background. Blackle saves energy because the screen is predominantly black.
  2. CO2 Saver is a free toolbar released by Snap and is a lightweight application that runs in Windows. It adjusts your Windows power settings so that your computer, monitor and hard drive consumes less electricity when you’re not actively using them
  3. If you don't feel comfortable messing with the Power Options, there is a software called Local Cooling. This software is completely free and it will optimize your computer's power consumption by using a more effective power save mode. It will also keep showing you how much energy and how many trees you have saved because of using that software. To download it please visit www.localcooling.com
  4. Energy Star is an international standard for energy efficient consumer products.
  5. Use LCD monitors. Some sources quote CRT monitors as consuming 250% more power than LCD screens of similar size.

Flaw In Internet Security revealed

Independent security researchers in California and researchers at the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in the Netherlands, EPFL in Switzerland, and Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Netherlands have found a weakness in the Internet digital certificate infrastructure that allows attackers to forge certificates that are fully trusted by all commonly used web browsers.

As a result of this weakness it is possible to impersonate secure websites and email servers and to perform virtually undetectable phishing attacks, implying that visiting secure websites is not as safe as it should be and is believed to be. By presenting their results at the 25C3 security congress in Berlin on the 30th of December, the experts hope to increase the adoption of more secure cryptographic standards on the Internet and therewith increase the safety of the internet.
